Here at Madera Mañana, we love art and the art of creation, so we give back to the art community by showcasing artists who inspire us.
Sculptor HENRY VILLALOBOS, Originates from Guanacaste, Costa Rica and was born in April 1973. He first ventured into art at 25 years of age, after discovering his natural talent to create works of fallen woods in the process of decomposition.
Women are the main source of inspiration in his work because they manifest elements of strength, movement, balance, and sensuality, while incorporating other materials, simply making each work uniquely with one another.
Henry’s work has been showcased all over Costa Rica and Asia, the highlights being the 2014 World Wood Day in China and the Collaboration project World Wood Day 2015 in Turkey.
It is Henry’s hope that the strength and courage of women will be recognized and that they will be able to come from behind the shadows of man and take their rightful place on the world stage.
